The London Book Fair 2020
UPDATE 06/03/2020: As you know, the London Book Fair has been cancelled, but the BA has taken the decision to still hold its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 10th March in London.
The meeting will be held from 4.30pm to 5.30 pm on Tuesday 10th March, at the Booksellers Association, 6 Bell Yard, London WC2A 2JR.

We will then go for an optional drink at a nearby pub, for those able to stay.

Update 04/03/2020: We are saddened to announce that the London Book Fair will not be taking place this year, and will return in 2021.
Organisers of the fair have said: 'Reed Exhibitions has today announced that The London Book Fair 2020, scheduled to take place at Olympia, London, from 10 to 12 March will be cancelled following the escalation of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Europe.
The effects, actual and projected, of Coronavirus are becoming evident across all aspects of our lives here in the UK and across the world, with many of our participants facing travel restrictions. We have been following UK government guidelines and working with the rolling advice from the public health authorities and other organisations, and so it is with reluctance that we have taken the decision not to go ahead with this year’s event.
We recognise that business has to continue. With this in mind, we will of course support and collaborate with exhibitors and visitors to keep our world moving during this difficult period. We thank all those from the UK and a multitude of other countries who have prepared over the last year to deliver what promised to be a wonderful book fair showcasing, as ever, the exciting best of the global book industry. The London Book Fair will return, better than ever, in 2021.'
The London Book Fair was due to take place from the 10th to the 12th March 2020.

The first of these is a BA member forum, which will serve as an opportunity for members to ask any questions they may have to other booksellers and the BA team; the second is a Bookseller Fever pitch.
Hosted Bookseller Programme
The Hosted Bookseller Programe offers complimentary accommodation in London on top of free entry to the Fair, a generous publisher goody bag, and a bookseller party. The Programme started in 2011 and has enabled over 250 booksellers attend the Fair.
Please note that we have filled all spaces for the 2020 programme.
'It was great to meet Pippa on the first day for advice on what to do. Patrick Neale also was a great help in directing me to contacts in Batch and Bertline. Overall it was personal contact that made the book fair enjoyable and productive for me. The tea and snacks also kept the energy levels up'
'Thanks so much for helping with this - as a new bookseller it was so valuable and useful, and I came back brimming with ideas and advice from other booksellers. Offering the hotel made it possible to pack in so much more, and the seminars were really insightful'
'I thought the whole experience from communicating availability, to personal follow up, response to questions and the hotel and event itself exceeded expectations. I am really pleased to have the opportunity to congratulate the hard work which I, and I'm sure many others, found incredibly useful and effective. Many thanks.'
'We enjoyed our first visit to the London Book Fair. We found the BA publisher pitches including the children's pitch very useful in our buying for the remainder of the year including Christmas.'
'Found signing up for the programme really easy, the LBF website/calendar was great for organising and planning ahead (there was so much I wanted to squeeze in!) For me, I think the scheme is great and worked really well, thanks so much for having me!'
London Book & Screen Week
The London Book Fair sits in the heart of London Book & Screen Week - a capital-wide celebration of books, and the films, TV programmes, and virtual worlds they've inspired. Booksellers have the opportunity to list and promote their events on the LBSW website.
